First week in "My Father's World"

Dario recreated one of the pictures from the "I Pledge Allegiance" book by Bill Martin Jr.
We made flag shaped Rice Krispie treats for the first day of school.
One of our "extra" activities...I found this in a book from our local library.

Our bulletin board with some of our "extra" activities.
The beginning of our Time Line

Our Bible activity for today - we discussed the meaning of our names this week...next week we'll

start studying the names of Jesus.

Dario documenting our Science experiment (what we did, what happened, what we learned).

Well, today we finished up our first week of homeschooling, and I must say, it's been a good week!  We're using MFW - Adventures in My Father's World with our 3rd grade son.  This week we reviewed the Pledge of Allegiance, studied maps (both US and World), learned about the Vikings, and did our first science experiment.  We're also using MCP Math and various Evan Moor workbooks (spelling, vocab, reading comprehension, and daily writing)...I also plan on adding in some Shurley English as we go along.
