Week 4: Native Americans, Universe and Stars

Another good week, but a very busy one for me! I'll see how much I can remember from last week. We focused more on the Science portion of MFW since Dario is REALLY interested in planets/stars. We did start the week off with our book about the Native Americans and made a teepee and wigwam.

He also made a Native American paper doll (this was to give him more opportunities to color, cut and paste - which are areas he is still lagging behind in developmentally, but really improving!)

He and my mom also made Maple Sugar Candy from the book

"More Than Moccasins"...they have all the fun while I'm at work in the afternoons! As much as he enjoyed those activities, he really enjoyed learning more about the Solar System. He completed the Planet Word Wheel one day, then used the information from that to complete "My Book About The Planets".

Here are the books we read this week.

Here's the verse he learned, John 8:12...Jesus is the Light of the World.

We also spent a lot of time working with money this week, continued to learn the importance of adding details when we write, and reviewed adverbs in grammar. All in all, another fun and adventurous week in homeschooling! Oh, and on top of all of that, Dario won a Backpack STUFFED with back-to-school goodies from his orthodontist! He was so happy to share all that he got, including giving his new backpack to his sister, who had just worn a hole in her old backpack!
